Q.
What if I can’t attend the AGM or EGMs?
A.
A non-resident owner has exactly the same rights and obligations as a resident owner. If they can’t attend the meetings they can authorise someone else to attend on their behalf. If they are not represented then their vote will be taken as favourable to whatever is proposed. However, they can notify the secretary of the community within 30 days if they disagree with a decision that has been made. The onus is on the non-resident to find out through a representative what proposals there are as there is no obligation to send the agenda or minutes abroad.
